Farm inventory and financial records with source context
Track materials and recorded money movements, with the original operational source kept in view.
A stock quantity and a payment describe different parts of a farm operation. AgriDigi keeps inventory items, purchase and receipt workflows, reservations and movement history alongside income and expense records. Source links help you inspect why a transaction exists rather than interpreting an amount without its operational context.
Use inventory to track what is held and available, and finance to review recorded money movements. Creating a stock item or editing its descriptive details alone does not record a payment. A recorded purchase or sale is a separate operation with its own quantity, value and available source information.
Separate physical stock from the financial ledger
Create inventory items with their units and relevant stock details. Review purchase orders and receipts when receiving materials. Stock history records movements, while task and operational reservations affect what is available for another action. Planting can consume selected inputs; eligible livestock feed events can consume linked stock, and usable production can add to an existing item in its exact unit.
In finance, record manual income or expense with an amount, currency, category and optional payment, reference and notes details. Automatic records retain their source context. Filter the loaded ledger by search, type or source and use available links to open the related operation. Currency-specific summaries avoid treating unlike currencies as one comparable balance.
Example: receive feed and record its use
- Check the feed item and its stock unit. Use the purchasing and receipt controls for the actual acquisition rather than changing an item name to imply a purchase.
- Review the received quantity and related purchase record. Inspect the corresponding recorded expense where the operation creates one.
- Before assigning or consuming feed, check available stock and reservations. In a livestock feed event, use the linked stock item’s exact unit.
- Record the feed event and review its saved history and stock movement. Do not treat consumption of existing feed as another purchase payment.
- Filter finance to the relevant source and dates. Load additional ledger rows before exporting the records you want to inspect.
You can distinguish receipt, reservation, consumption and payment records. Those distinctions make an unexpected quantity or expense easier to investigate.
What to review before you use this workflow
- Financial amounts are reviewed by currency. This workflow does not turn mixed currencies into a converted farm-wide total or provide tax filing advice.
- Exports contain the currently loaded, filtered rows. Load more before exporting when additional history is needed; PDF output uses browser printing.
- Scheduled transactions are manually posted. Weekly or monthly recurrence advances after a successful posting; it does not initiate background payments or bank transfers.
Frequently asked questions
Does adding an inventory item create an expense?
No. Item setup and payment recording are distinct. Use a supported purchase or financial-entry workflow to record an actual money movement.
Can I track upcoming income or expenses?
You can create a manual finance schedule with a local start date and time and optional recurrence. Each Post Now action creates one posting; payments are not executed automatically.
Will a CSV contain my entire financial history?
It contains the loaded, filtered rows. Check the loaded counts and use load-more controls before exporting if you need additional records.
